Statement on the Current Geopolitical Situation

In light of the current geopolitical situation, the WCA2026 Organising Committee is following developments closely.

Please be assured that the safety and security of our delegates are our top priorities. We remain in constant communication with local authorities and our partners and are carefully following official guidance.

At this time, WCA2026 is proceeding as scheduled. We will continue to track the situation and will provide updates should any changes occur.

Cancellation Policy

As per the official terms and conditions:

Until 15 February 2026: 50% refund
After this date: no refund
Name changes are not permitted

Exceptional Option – Switch to On-Demand

Participants who can no longer attend in person may request to switch to on-demand access.

To proceed, please email registrationwca2026@key4events.com clearly confirming your request to switch.

Visa letters are available for download only once:

Certificate of Attendance

Certificates of attendance will be sent by email after the congress to participants who registered and attended in person.

Please note that attendance will be verified through badge scanning on-site.

WCA2026 Entrance Policy

Registration is mandatory for all participants.
The official WCA2026 badge must be worn at all times to access congress areas.
Access to scientific sessions is restricted to participants aged 18 years and over.
Access to the industry exhibition is restricted to participants aged 18 years and over.
Nursing parents are welcome to tend to their babies within the congress areas. Please note that no dedicated childcare or lactation facilities are available.

WCA2026 offers tiered registration fees based on the World Bank Classification

WCA2026 offers flexible registration options to suit all attendees – whether you’re a delegate, resident, student, nurse, or AHCP.

The WCA2026 fee structure is designed to be inclusive and accessible to participants from around the world.

To ensure broader participation, registration fees are tiered according to the economic level of each participant’s country of work, following the World Bank Classification.

Please note that fees are determined by your country of work, not nationality.

If you are unable to attend in person, we warmly encourage you to register for on-demand access. This provides unlimited viewing of recordings from all scientific sessions, including slides and audio, allowing you to benefit from the full educational programme wherever you are in the world.

Opening Ceremony & Registration Desk

WCA2026 welcomes all delegates with a spectacular Opening Ceremony, bringing the global anaesthesiology community together to officially launch the Congress. Hosted by Desirée Chappell alongside Congress Chairs Daniela Filipescu and Jamal-Eddine Kohen and Carolina Haylock Loor, the ceremony will set the tone for the days ahead.

During the ceremony, we will present the WFSA Distinguished Service Award, WFSA Rising Star Award, and WFSA Innovation Award, recognising individuals shaping the future of our specialty.

Badge Collection

Collect your congress badge on Wednesday 15 April and avoid queues on Thursday morning before the Opening Ceremony. You will also be able to pick up your WCA2026 water bottle — a souvenir from Marrakech, kindly sponsored by Tuoren.

The 19th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 27.5 European CME
credits (ECMEC®s).

Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Accreditation is claimed for in-person registration only.
